uPVC casement windows
Side-hinged sashes that open fully, outward or inward, and close against their seals. Made to measure in Gurugram and installed by Winsplast.

Single, double, combined and top-hung casements
Single casement
One sash on side hinges. Suits narrower openings.
Double casement
Two sashes meet in the middle and open to clear the whole width.
With fixed panes
Casements combined with fixed glass above or beside them, in one frame.
Dashed lines point to the hinge side.
Top-hung windows
The sash is hinged along the top edge and opens outward from the bottom. Often used for small openings such as bathrooms and kitchens, and above fixed glass.
Outward or inward opening
Outward-opening casements keep the room clear and are widely used in Indian homes. Inward-opening casements are easier to clean from inside and suit openings where a sash cannot swing outside, but they need space in the room.
Things to consider
- Outward sashes need clear space outside, away from walkways and grilles.
- If you want mesh, ask about pleated mesh, which folds away when not needed.
- Very wide openings are usually split into several sashes or combined with fixed panes.
Questions
Casement or sliding: which is better?
Neither is better everywhere. Casements open fully and close against their seals; sliders save space. See the guidance on uPVC windows.
Can casements have security grilles?
Grilles must leave room for the sashes to open. We discuss this when we measure.
