What affects the price of uPVC windows
There is no single price per window. Two windows of the same size can be priced quite differently. These are the things that change a quote, and what to tell us so the one you get is accurate.
What changes the price
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Size | Larger openings need more frame and glass; very large sashes may need heavier sections or hardware. |
| Opening type | Fixed, sliding, casement and tilt and turn windows use different hardware and amounts of frame. |
| Glass | Single or double glazing, glass thickness and special glass such as toughened or laminated glass. |
| Hardware | Handles, locks, hinges and rollers come in different grades. |
| Finish | Laminated or coloured finishes usually cost more than standard white. |
| Mesh | A mesh shutter or pleated mesh is an addition to the window itself. |
| Quantity and site | The number of windows, the floors they are on, access, and whether old frames must be removed. |
This list explains why quotes differ. It is not a substitute for a quote for your openings.
What to tell us for an accurate quote
- Your location
- The number of openings and approximate width and height of each
- How you want each to open, if you know
- New construction or replacing existing windows
- Photos of the openings, if you can
A quote based on approximate sizes is indicative; the final price depends on the final measurements.
